Thayer, Jay Wednesday, October 08, 2003 7:38 PM VTY - All Users Power Uprate News High To the Vermont Yankee Team:
We received word late this afternoon that the Public Service Board (PSB) had issued an Order placing sanctions on Entergy Vermont Yankee in response to problems that arose during the 'discovery" process in our power uprate case before the PSB. The sanctions include $50,911.00 in compensation to the New England Coalition (NEC) for staff and legal time. In addition, the Board extended the schedule to issue an order in the case to March 15, 2004.
While we are disappointed with this development, we continue to believe that the uprate of Vermont Yankee is truly in the best interest of the state, our employees, and our company and we will continue to pursue approval of our application.
I have full confidence that we will achieve a favorable outcome and I will share new developments with you as we go forward. In the meantime, the most important task for all of us is to remain focused on and dedicated to the continued safe operation of Vermont Yankeel Jay K 3 1
