In the past week, there have been two incidents of damage to copy machines located in the Admin Bldg copy room on the 2nd floor. The first was with the Canon Imagerunner with all the panel doors open and the webbing torn out of the side of the machine. The repair technician said it appeared as though there was been a paper jam and someone ripped the webbing out, perhaps in an effort to clear the paper jam but also with some level of frustration.
The second incident was with the new color copier/printer that has only been recently installed. It was reported earlier this week as having broken bolts inside the front panel. In both cases, the user just walked away from the damage without making an attempt notify anyone of the damage nor did they leave a note that it was OOS and who to contact with follow-up questions, if needed.
This message serves as a reminder that copy machines are to be treated like any piece of plant equipment, with care, and a healthy dose of respect and courtesy...both for the machine and the subsequent users of the equipment.
If you encounter problems with any of the copy machines at the Vernon site, please contact Shiela Easton of the RIMS department at ext. 3149 and she will assist you as quickly as possible.
