EDG "B" Louvers Beth: Regarding your question this morning about PB" EDG Louver 'Bolting Issue". CR 2003-02785 & WO was written on "B" EDG intake louvers # 4 & 6. These louvers were considered operable based on an operability assessment from Lenny Murphy. The bolts are causing minor rubbing against the sheet metal penthouse and do not restrict the movement of the louver.
Yesterday we had performed the Diesel Louver test for 'B" EDG intake louvers and louvers 5 & 6 did not open WOR 04-060625 & CR 2004-00639 was written to address this concern. FIN Team investigated reason for louvers not operating and found that the Solenoid which operates these louvers did not reposition to vent the louver piston and consequently did not open. It has been determined that sufficient air flow remains with the other operable 4 louvers opening to cool the room and the Diesel is considered operable at this time.
Today the FIN Team is preparing to replace the solenoid for louvers 5 & 6 and also preparing to fix the bolts on louvers 4 &
