Dear Mr. Grobe:

In response to your request dated June 14,2004, the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS) has reviewed the subject High Pressure Injection (HPI) pump slides and determined that they are not proprietary. These twenty-nine slides associated with the DBNPS P I pump post-Loss-of-Coolant Accident operation issue resolution project were marked "MPR Proprietary" based on being preliminary information at the time. Subsequently, the majority of the information provided in the slides was provided to the NRC during public meeting presentations (specifically, the NRC/FENOC 0350 Panel Public Meetings in July and August 2003, and the October 21,2003, Modification of High Pressure Injection Pumps Meeting). Therefore, FENOC does not consider the subject slides proprietary.
