Dear Mr. Crawford:

MONITORING REPORT POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT Permit # 436034500-PO I requires the company to submit a summary of the results of monitoring required by the permit. This report covers the six-month period of the current year ending December 31. The enclosed table, entitled "Parameters That Are Recorded Intermittently,"

shows a summary of the parameters monitored.

During the reporting period, there was one minor deviation from the permit requirements. We did operate the combustion turbine (CT), permit designation P01, concurrently with one of the emergency diesel generators on August 9, 2001, to meet system generation load demand. The two units ran together for only 31 minutes. There was no other permit deviations during the reporting period.

The combustion turbine is fired with a #1 and #2 fuel oil blend; The sulfur content of that fuel is

< 0.178%. The emergency diesel generators (P02, P03, P04 and P05) are fired with a low sulfur,

 1. 2 fuel oil. The sulfur content of that fuel is < 0.287%.

We analyze the sulfur content in each oil delivery following ASTM D1552-95 procedures. We maintain records of each analysis at the plant.

The CT and the emergency diesel generators (permit designations P04 and P05) were operated less than 228.83 and 20.67 hours7.75463e-4 days
0.0186 hours
1.107804e-4 weeks
2.54935e-5 months
per month, on 12-month rolling average basis, respectively.
