Dear Mr. Bezilla:
We have received the enclosed Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Region V final exercise report, dated September 10, 2003, for the June 10, 2003 plume exposure pathway exercise at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (ADAMS Accession No. ML041750371).
One Area Requiring Corrective Action (ARCA) was identified by FEMA Region V staff regarding the performance of Ottawa County responders. The enclosed FEMA report indicates that corrective actions for this ARCA were successfully demonstrated in August 2003.
We fully recognize that any corrective actions to be implemented may involve parties and political institutions which are not under your direct control. Nonetheless, we expect that assistance, if appropriate, will be extended.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publically Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www/nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
