I am writing to let you know of my vehement objection not only to not extend Millstone's request for a renewal and extension of their license, but to object to it's very existence. I live on the south shore of Long Island and am a mere 14 miles away. ( Montauk)There are millions of people in very close proximity of this plant, both here and in Connecticut. I could remember in the early '70's when a nuclear power plant was just about completed, ( Shoram) on the north shore of Long Island. It was finally stopped because there was not any way to evacuate the Island in case of an emergency. Well guess what? The topography has not changed!
Aside from Millstone's dismill safety record, with the world filled with terrorists, who wants to give them another target? The terrorists do not need to develop any nuclear weapons, we have supplied them with plenty through out our country!
