50-260 50-296 BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) - UNITS 1, 2, AND 3 - MARCH 30-31, 2004 MEETING FOLLOW-UP - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR LICENSE RENEWAL ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW By letter dated December 31, 2003, TVA submitted an application to renew the operating licenses for BFN Units 1, 2, and 3. On March 30-31, 2004, several NRC Headquarters Staff members from the License Renewal Environmental Impact section and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory contractors met with TVA at BFN and toured the site and adjacent environs. The purpose of the visit was to gain familiarity with BFN and its surroundings and to obtain information necessary for completing a Supplement to the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal, specifically for BFN. During the meeting, TVA personnel answered questions on a wide range of environmental topics, as requested. To assist the Staff in its review of the Environmental Report contained in the BFN application, the enclosed CD-ROMs provide additional information on these and other matters that were addressed during the meeting.
Four CD-ROMs are included in this submittal. Due to the large number of files associated with the various documents, TVA has included the listing of files and file size for each CD-ROM in an Enclosure. The CD-ROMs are labeled "BFN License Renewal Environmental Review Additional Information, Publicly Available." TVA is submitting this information in conformance with the guidance in Federal Register (FR) notification 68FR58826, Appendix A, United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
Guidance for Electronic Submission to the Commission, dated October 10, 2003.
This letter contains no new commitments.
