Dear Mr. Rao:
Per your request, enclosed is a compact disk containing the Low Power Shutdown (LP/SD)
Standardized Plant Analysis Risk (SPAR) model for Grand Gulf and the SAPHIRE 6.80 suite of PRA codes. Also enclosed is a copy of the users manual for the Grand Gulf LP/SD SPAR model. The SAPHIRE code suite is required to perform analyses with the LP/SD SPAR model. Both of the software packages are in the form of executable files that can be run directly from the compact disk. These items are for your organizations use only and are not to be distributed further without the consent of the NRC. Also please note that the information contained in the SPAR model is considered sensitive and should be treated accordingly.
These software packages are provided to facilitate the onsite QA review of the LP/SD model with your PRA staff, which is scheduled for June 15 -17, 2004. The LP/SD SPAR model is considered interim, and should be used by your staff analysts with appropriate discretion.

Questions about the SAPHIRE code suite should be directed to Mr. Ted Wood, INEEL, at (208) 526-8729 (stw@inel.gov).
