the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff requested licensees to respond within 60 days to provide a list of the specific actions to be taken on reliability issues with certain Rosemount transmitters. A letter dated March 11, 1993 (PY-CEI/NRR-1601 L), provided that list of actions and a schedule for their completion at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP). These actions included implementation of monitoring programs on specified transmitters installed at PNPP which had not been in service long enough to be considered "mature", i.e., which did not yet meet the "psi-month" thresholds recommended by Rosemount.

Since these committed actions were to "implement" the monitoring programs, these actions were able to be closed out in that March 11, 1993 letter, since the programs were already in place.

However, the letter also stated that the NRC staff would be notified when all the Supplement 1 scope transmitters reach their psi-month threshold criteria. Accordingly, the following information is provided: Of the transmitters identified in Tables 1, 2, and 3 of Enclosure 1 to the March 11, 1993 letter, the last transmitter (1 E31 N088D) reached its specified threshold of 130,000 psi-months in January 2004.

There are no regulatory commitments contained in this letter. If you have questions or require additional information, please contact Mr. Vernon K. Higaki, Manager - Regulatory Affairs, at (440) 280-5294.

Very truly yours, cc: NRC Project Manager NRC Resident Inspector NRC Region IlIl
