Dear Sirs,
On behalf of the residents of the Town ofDummnerston, we write to state our agreement with the Vermont State Senate resolution S.R. 21, urging that the NRC condition approval of any uprate at the Vermont Yankee nuclear power facility upon performance of an "independent engineering assessment" being completed at Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee as called for in the Public Service Board ruling.
Dununerston is within the ten-mile Emergency Planning Zone of ENVY. We have not signed off on our Emergency Response Plan for two years due to concerns about its efficacy. An uprate without the assurance an independent assessment would give will only exacerbate our concerns.
