CAL No. NRR-03-018: Confirmatory Action Letter -

Pennsylvania State University - Site-Specific Compensatory Measures Implementation Plan The subject letter indicated the NRC should be notified in writing when we had completed the actions addressed in the subject CAL.

The CAL was dated November 13, 2003 and received on November 20, 2003.

Most items referenced in PSU's compensatory measures letter of July 22, 2003 were already complete at the time of submittal. Several actions yet to be completed were tied to the date of the CAL. Those actions are identified below along with the date of completion.

Details are not provided since that might be considered SGI material.

All committed actions are complete.

Compensatory measures addressed in sections A.2, B.1, C.6, and C.7 referred to having certain administrative procedures in place within three months of the issuance of the CAL. The administrative procedures were issued effective January 26, 2004. The administrative procedures were verified during the recent inspection conducted by Tom Dragoun.

Section B.1 also referred to having the background investigations for those having had UNESCORTED ACCESS for less than three years being completed within six months of the issuance of the CAL. Those investigations were completed on March 30, 2004.

If this email does not satisfy the CAL requirement for NRC notification upon completion of committed actions please let me know.
