April 19, 2004 Dr. Jerry Bartlett, President Athens State University Presidents Office 300 North Beaty Street Athens, Alabama 35611
Dear Dr. Bartlett:
On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I wanted to express our sincere appreciation for your assistance in supporting the recent public meetings on Tennessee Valley Authority license renewal application for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Units 1, 2, and 3.
Your willingness to provide facility space and the outstanding support of your staff, particularly Ms. Sandra Stockton, enhanced the publics opportunity to participate in our license renewal process.
As noted during the meeting, the staff intends to hold a second public meeting to discuss the draft environmental impact statement related to the Browns Ferry license renewal application in early in 2005. We look forward to your support and the opportunity to work with you and your staff again. If you have any questions on this matter, please contact me at (301) 415-1191 or via electronic mail at mtm2@nrc.gov.
Sincerely,
/RA/
