SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO. 50/395 UNIT V. C. SUMMER I DATE April 5, 2004 COMPLETED BY W. H. BELL TELEPHONE (803) 345-4389 March 2004 V. C. Summer Station began the month at 100% power and operated there until 03/30/04. At 14:10 on the 3 0 th a plant shutdown began to support repairs to the C Reactor Coolant Pump seal injection line. This seal injection line was identified as the source of pressure boundary leakage, which required a plant shutdown in accordance with Tech Spec 3.4.6.2. During this shutdown at 15:16 the main turbine was manually tripped due to high bearing vibration. At 15:21 the reactor automatically tripped due to lo-lo level in the C steam generator. The plant remained shutdown for the remainder of the month.
