RAM Item No. - SUP-48 Description of Issue - Assessment of Performance in the Reactor Safety Strategic Performance Area: Key Attribute - Configuration Control: Assess the effectiveness of corrective actions for deficiencies involving configuration control.

Description of Resolution - The restart readiness assessment team inspections assessed configuration control as did the resident inspection staff during Mode changes In December 2003 and January 2004. The restart readiness assessment team Inspections concluded that specific problem areas and issues observed during the first restart readiness assessment team inspection, which included configuration control issues, were acceptable.

The resident Inspectors reviewed the licensee's daily configuration risk assessments as part of their normal duties and concluded that equipment configurations had been properiy listed In daily status sheets, that protected equipment had been identified and was being controlled where appropriate, and that significant aspects of plant risk were being communicated to the necessary personnel.
