Dear Mr. Crane:

This letter refers to an investigation conducted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Region III (RIII), Office of Investigations (OI) to determine if a former contract electrician at the Clinton Nuclear Power Station was discriminated against for raising safety concerns about the adequacy of paper work for a fuse block work activity. Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, we did not substantiate this issue. The synopsis from the OI report of investigation is enclosed.

SYNOPSIS This investigation was initiated on July 22, 2002, by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Investigations (OI), Region III (RIII), to determine if a contract electrician was discriminated against in violation of 10 CFR 50.7 and 50.5 at the Clinton Power Station (CPS) for raising a safety concern.

Based on the evidence developed during this investigation, OI:RIII did not substantiate the allegation that a contract electrician was discriminated against in violation of 10 CFR 50.7 and 50.5 at the CPS.
