ENCLOSURE I 2003 OCCUPATIONAL RADIATION EXPOSURE REPORT The attached table summarizes the distribution of radiation exposure by job function, work group and employer for the year 2003. The methodology and format used to prepare the table meet the reporting requirements of Palisades Plant Technical Specification 5.6.1.
Occupational exposures are derived from electronic dosimeter (ED) data and are adjusted to reflect cumulative site total effective dose equivalent (TEDE). The correction factor is applied to the ED dose accrued in each job function, work group and employer category.
Palisades Plant Technical Specification 5.6.1 requires that work designated as special maintenance be described. There were three radiation work permits (RWPs) for work designated as special maintenance. Each is summarized below:
- 1. RWP 2003-0202 - Spent Fuel Pool Crane Modifications. Modifications to the spent fuel pool crane were performed to upgrade an aging piece of equipment. The modifications included a new roof hatch installation, ductwork modifications, structural bracing modifications, trolley clips installation, runway clips installation, new trolley installation, testing of the trolley, and post-test weld inspections.
- 2.
RWP 2003-5310 - Letdown Heat Exchanger Support Modification. Modifications were done to the support structure for the letdown heat exchanger to reinforce the existing structure.
- 3.
RWP 2003-5311 - Remove Abandoned Drain Tank Recirculation Line. Abandoned sections of two-inch stainless steel piping were removed. End caps were welded on the remaining piping and hangers were placed on the remaining piping.
