INTRODUCTION The reactor operated continuously in February with the following exceptions: 4 shutdowns for scheduled maintenance and refueling; 1 unscheduled shutdown.
MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES 2/2/04 Refueled - removed core 04-05, loaded core 04-06.
2/5/04 Refueled - removed core 04-06, loaded core 04-07.
2/9/04 Refueled - removed core 04-07, loaded core 04-08.
2/10/04 Replaced Iodine channel chart motor in the NMC Model RAK stack monitor.
2/16/04 Refueled - removed core 04-08, loaded core 04-09.
Removed the X and MHX fuel storage baskets. Installed the new 20 element X fuel storage basket.
2/23/04 Refueled - removed core 04-09, loaded core 04-10.
Removed the Y and MHY fuel storage baskets. Installed the new 20 element Y fuel storage basket.
Loaded new pool de-ionization bed 'B'.

Type Cause 2/5/04 1169 Scram
'NI Drawer #1 indication failure On February 5, a Reactor Scram was manually initiated upon the complete failure of indication on NI drawer #1. After the shutdown, the Scram and Rod Run In functions were verified operable for the associated channels on that drawer. The front panel level and period display units were upgraded from plasma bar graphs to LCD units. The drawer's functions were tested sat. The reactor was subsequently refueled and returned to operation.
