Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 Palisades Nuclear Plant Docket 50-255 License DPR-20 Palisades Nuclear Plant Security Plan. Revision 49 Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) is currently constructing an independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI) within the owner control area of the Palisades Nuclear Plant. To address the necessary security requirements, NMC has revised the Palisades Security Plan to include a Security Plan, Safeguards Contingency Plan, and Suitability, Training and Qualification Plan for the ISFSI. Two attachments comprise Revision 49 of the Palisades Nuclear Plant Security Plan. Attachment I contains a description of, and justification for, the changes included in revision 49. Attachment 2 contains one original and three copies of the revised pages of the Plan. This Security Plan, Revision 49, supercedes Revision 49 of the Security Plan previously submitted on December 1, 2003.
Based on current plans, spent fuel is scheduled to be stored at the ISFSI in July 2004.
It is our intent to implement the requirements of the ISFSI security plans approximately 30 days prior to that time.
NMC has determined that the changes contained in Revision 49 do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the Palisades Nuclear Plant Security Plan. Accordingly, this revision is submitted under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p)(2).
