Monthly Operating Report for January 2004 In accordance with Technical Specifications, Section 5.6.4, "Monthly Operating Reports," we are submitting this Monthly Operating Report for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3.
Additionally Peach Bottom has implemented the relaxation designated in NRC Generic Letter 97-02, "Revised Contents of the. Monthly Operating Report," which allowed a reduction in information that was being submitted in the Monthly Operating Report. These changes are and will be reflected in this and future reports.

I. INTRODUCTION Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station is composed of two Boiling Water Reactors and Steam Turbine/Generators located in Delta, Pennsylvania. Unit Two and Unit Three both have a Maximum Dependable Capacity of 1112 MWe Net. The Station is jointly owned by Exelon Nuclear and Public Service Electric and Gas. The Nuclear Steam Supply Systems are General Electric Company Boiling Water Reactors. The Architect/Engineer and Primary Construction Contractor was Bechtel Corporation. The Susquehanna River is the condenser cooling water source. The plant is subject to license numbers DPR-44 and DPR-56, issued October 25, 1973, and July 2, 1974, for Unit Two and Unit Three respectively, pursuant to Docket Numbers 50-277 and 50-278. The dates of initial Reactor criticality for Units Two and Three were September 16, 1973, and August 7, 1974, respectively. Commercial generation of power began on February 18, 1974, for Unit Two, and September 1, 1974, for Unit Three.
II.
SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE A. Unit TWO Unit 2 began the month of January at 100% of maximum allowable power (3496 MWth).
At 0051 on January 17th, Unit 2 reduced power to 79%, due to an accumulation of ice at the outer intake structure. The Unit returned to maximum allowable CTP (3496 MWth) by 1220 on January 17th Unit 2 ended the month of January at 100% of maximum allowable power (3496 MWth).
B. Unit THREE Unit 3 began the month of January at 100% power.
At 2102 on January 11h, Unit 3 reduced load by 5 MWe, due to problems with the 3D Monicore computer. Following resolution of the problems, the Unit returned to full power by 2300 on January 1 1 th i ith.~~~~~~t At 0051 on January 17th, Unit 3 reduced power to 85%, due to an accumulation of ice at the outer intake structure. The Unit returned to 100% power by 0922 on January 17th.
At 2352 on January 2 9th, Unit 3 reduced power i 9% for planned testing of the turbine stop valves.
The Unit returned to full power by 0407 on Janua \\30'h.
Unit 3 ended the month of January at 100% power.
