Blanks are expected to be fired today at Indian Point between 8 am and noon, outside the protected area but onsite, behind the training center. These test firings will sound the same as live rounds and may be heard offsite. Entergy has notified neighbors nearby, as well as the Mayor of Buchanan and the NY State Police. This blank weapons fire is part of the preparations for the Force on Force exercise, and is expected to occur periodically up until the Force on Force exercise is conducted.
