This issue deals with the potential for fire Hi-lo Pressure to cause maloperation of primary PORVS and selected Interface and shutdown cooling valves. As such any necessary support Separation Issues from NRR should be covered by the ongoing NRC/NEI work regarding associated circuits. No special assistance from NRR Is required at this time. 4/15103-Paul has completed his Inspection of this Item and submitted an SDP to Rudy. The Item should be closed In the FP Inspection report due to be Issued by May 12.

McGuire URI 00-09-01 Potential for Loss of 12/1512000 Bob Schin and Norm Merriweather have been tasked to 8/31/03 Auxiliary Feedwater Inspect all the McGuire open Items in the April lime frame.

Flow for a Fire in Fire This Issue Involves the potential for fire to Induce Areas 2 and 14 maloperation of the turbine driven auxiliary feedwater pump suction valve. As such, any necessary support from NRR should be covered by the ongoing NRC/NEI work regarding associated circuits. No special assistance from NRR Is required at this time. 4/22103 Bob Schin concluded that this was Inappropriately characterized as an associated circuit. He has conducted additional followup Inspection of this Item sufficient to allow processing of this Issue through the SDP and completion of an Inspection report writeup. Due to his participation In the CR SSDPC Inspection and the Hatch FP Inspection, this Item will not be completed until the end of August.

This issue Involves the potential for fire to induce maloperation of a pressurizer PORV. As such, any necessary support from NRR should be covered by the ongoing NRC/NEI work regarding associated circuits. No special assistance from NRR is required at this time. 4122103 Bob Schin completed additional review of this Item and confirmed that It was appropriately characterized as an associated circuits Issue. As such It Is captured by the NRC's moratorium on Inspection which Is currently scheduled to be lifted In October 03. Given other work that Is ongoing, this Issue will probably not be completed until late CY 03. (Bob did gather Info to support processing of this Issue once the NRC begins Inspectlonlprocessinq of associated circuits.)

Insulated Cables In This Issue Involves the adequacy of a fire barrier material Lieu of Thermo-lag Installed by the licensee. It is currently the subject of a special Initiative by NRRIRES. No special assistance from NRR Is required at this time. 4122103 Bob Schin conducted additional followup of this Item during the bagman trip to McGuire. He gathered sufficient Information to conclude that this Isiue Is not a violation. Bob will prepare a writeup to close this Item to be Included In the McGuire TFP report to be Issued NLT 717/03 McGuire URI 00-09-05 Adequacy of HEMYC 121512000 4122/03 This Issue Involves HEMYC wrap which Is the Mid-Late 2004 Cable Wrap Fire subject of an ongoing NRR Initiative. Per the March 4, Barrier Qualification 2003 Status of Reactor Fire Protection Projects -

Tests and February 2003 status report, NRR has transferred this Evaluations to Issue to Research for tracking. NRR estimates that the Scope Installed results from this testing program will be available In Mid Configurations 2004.

St Lucie LER 00-04-00 Pressurizer Level 12/1512000 Paul Fillion will Inspect all the St. Lucie open items during the 5112/03 Instrumentation March time frame. This Issue deals with the potential for fire Conduit Separation to cause loss of pressurizer level Indication necessary for Outside Appendix R safe shutdown. As such any necessary support from NRR Design Bases should be covered by the ongoing NRC/NEI work regarding associated circuits. No special assistance from NRR Is required at this time. 4/15/03-Paul has completed his Inspection of this Item and submitted an SDP to Rudy.

A formal exit of his findings was conducted on 4/14. The report for this Inspection should be Issued NLT 5/15.

This Item will required NRR review of the licensee's themo-hydraulic calculation completed following the SSDPC Inspection. In addition NRR assistance is required to address the adequacy of several steps In the licensee's mitigation strategy. These questions have been formulated In a draft TIA which Is currently being discussed with NRR. Once NRR agrees to accept the TIA I expect they will be able to answer the TIA In approximately 90 days.
