Drawer 6406 Alice Moss Revenue Commissioner Dotan Alabama 36302 Chief Revenue Clerk (334) 677-4747 (334) 677-4714 January 7, 2004 Document Control Desk U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission One White Flint Washington, DC 20555 Dear Mr. Kuo I am writing in support of the renewal of the license for Plant Farley.

Farley is a vital part of the community in Houston County. The impact that the plant has on the economy is tremendous. It currently provides over 8 million annually in tax revenue and provides quality jobs for over 900 employees.

Farley's contribution does not stop with its financial impact, the involvement of the plant in the quality of life in our community makes Houston County a better place to live. The employees at Farley are involved with the community and volunteer both their time and resources. I personally serve on the United Way Board and am a member of the Dothan Rotary Club with two different employees from the plant.

Plant Farley is greatly appreciated and means so much to the local economy. Farley is not just an asset to our community it is part of the community that I would like to see continue.

Sincerely, Starla Moss Matthews Revenue Commissioner Houston County SMM/atm cc: Charles R. Pierce License Renewal Project Manager M(q
