FEMA REGION IV FINAL EXERCISE FOR JULY 23, 2003 FULL PARTICIPATION PLUME EXERCISE - V. C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION
Dear Mr. Byrne:
Enclosed is the subject report for the July 23, 2003, full participation plume phase pathway exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the V. C. Summer Nuclear Station. All objectives of the exercise were demonstrated with no Deficiencies being identified. However, two Areas Requiring Corrective Action (ARCA) were identified during the exercise. These ARCAs concerned direction and control of the field teams at the DHEC Command Center and the lack of a laboratory for sample analysis as specified in the extent-of-play agreement.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
