Notification of need for additional time to submit response to NRC letter (from Daniel Hughes, dated Dec. 12, 2003, TAC No. MB8233, Docket No. 50-62) containing questions about our earlier submission of April 4, 2003: Master Final Status Survey Plan (FSSP) and Addenda 001-008 for facility operation licences No. R-66 and R-123 for the University of Virginia Reactors.

Dear Mr. Hughes:

As per our phone conversation of January 7, 2004, this letter is to notify you of the need of the staff at the University of Virginia for additional time to respond to the above referenced letter. The letter requested that we respond within 30 days of the date of the letter, which would be by January 11, 2004. We still not be able to respond by this date, but fully expect that we should be able to respond by February 2, 2004. I hope that this is satisfactory.
