MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - MEETING CATEGORY 1 - TVA NUCLEAR FACILITIES - DOCKET NO. 50-259

Dear Mr. Scalice:

This letter confirms my telephone conversation with Mr. Timothy E. Abney of your staff on October 24, 2003, concerning a management meeting, Public Meeting Category 1, for November 12, 2003, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., CST. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss TVAs Browns Ferry Unit 1 Restart Status and is being conducted at our mutual agreement.

The location of the meeting will be the Browns Ferry Site Training Center, 10833 Shaw Road, Athens, Alabama 35611. The meeting will be an open meeting in accordance with "NRCs Policy Statement for Enhancing Public Participation in NRC meetings", May 28, 2002.

The agenda for the meeting is to discuss the status of the Unit 1 recovery efforts including accomplished work activities to date, schedule for future milestones, response to challenges, and understand activities important to NRC oversight and inspection regarding Unit 1.
