I am a retired senior citizen who has lived s f

my sears on the shores of Lake Erie. I am continuing to have concerns about the impact upon out environment from such installations as the Davis-Besse nuclear reactor. Equally disturbing is the high incidence of various forms of cancer within the Vermilion community as well as surrounding areas. We are all concerned for our safety, not only from the viewpoint of our physical well-being but in the event of failure of the facility or terrorist activity.

At the very least, lets keep Davis-Besse closed Sincerely, v

I live in __

Ohio-f Lake Erie. I spent my childhood swimming in this lake and occasionally still do as much as I can although now its more boating than swimming. I am @years young and have seen the lake get so polluted that it was said to be dead. I have also seen it revive to a great extent. In the past few years I have seen insects, Canadian Soldiers, returning from the lake that I have not seen since 1950s. This shows me that the lake is getting cleaner finally. This took 50 years. If there is an accident at Davis-Besse, I dont think the Great Lakes would ever recover.

I do not feel that Davis-Besse should be reopened and especially not in its present location so close to the largest freshwater system in the world.

Dear Mr. Caldwell,

In regards to the Davis-Besse nuclear plant located in Cleveland Ohio, on Lake Erie. I would like to convey my concerns on any consideration to re-open this facility. To re-open Davis-Besse would be taking too great a risk for the millions of people a melt down would effect. Risks such as health, loss of employment, loss of property and farmland necessary for local and national markets, along with the irreversible contamination to the Great Lakes system, which Im sure you are aware, is the largest fresh water system in the world and supplies many communities with drinking water. To re-open Davis-Besse and to take a chance on a disaster such as the one that took place at Chernobyl in Russia would be taking far greater a risk than the re-opening could ever benefit.
