Re: QUESTION ON RELEASE OF TIA ON ANO FIRE PROTECTION TO LICENSEE Tom; I have no objections to releasing the TIA response to the ANO-1 licensee. However, as Naeem has stated, the supplemental FHA supersedes the initial FHA.

See-Meng, In your TIA response on ANO-1, you reference both SPLB's 05/28/02 intial FHA and also SPLB's 07/18/02 supplemental FHA. Region IV is considering releasing the entire TIA response to the licensee (except for the cover memos and one figure); however, Naeem lqbal would rather not see the initial FHA released because he believes that it is superseded by the supplemental FHA.

)

~ Question is: Do you agree that there is no need to release SPLB's initial FHA, or does your review consider other aspects of the initial FHA that are not covered in SPLB's supplemental FHA? Please v

advise quickly. Region IV is trying to get something to the licensee today.

Tom, This is I believe a regional call. SPSB does not have problems.

Mark, On August 14,2002, in a memo from Mike Johnson to William Ruland, SPSB provided a Phase 3 SDP p\\

analysis on the ANO-1 fire protection issue. This information was subsequently included as Attachment 1 in a September 25, 2002, TIA response from Tad Marsh to Art Howell (Region IV). (I've attached the 3

September 25, 2002, response because I can't find SPSB's August 14, 2002 memo in ADAMS.)

In preparation for the Regulatory Conference, the licensee has asked for details on how NRC did its

'4 analysis. Does SPSB have any problems with releasing See-Meng's Phase 3 analysis (i.e., Attachment 1 of the attached ADAMS file) to the licensee, with a copy to the PDR?
