t4, L7 The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) would like to thank you and your staff for participating in our September 10, 2003, public meeting on the Department of Energy's contractor oversight programs. The Board is interested in helping the Department of Energy to increase the effectiveness of its oversight programs across the defense nuclear complex.
The Board was very impressed by the frank and open presentations provided by Dr. Edwin Hackett, Ms. Cynthia Carpenter, and Mr. Russell Gibbs, focusing on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Reactor Oversight Process and lessons learned from the Davis-Besse incident. This information will help us in our endeavor.
