STN 50-498 and STN 50-499 Physical Security Plan. Revision 17A Enclosed are the original and three (3) copies of the South Texas Project (STP) Physical Security Plan, Revision 17A. Two (2) copies of the plan revision are being forwarded to Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region IV, Regional Administrator and a copy is being forwarded to the Region IV Senior Physical Security Inspector.
STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) has re-evaluated the current defensive strategy and started implementation of the new defensive strategy to defend against the revised design basis threat described in the April 29, 2003, Order (EA-03-086). This revision contains an interim change that further describes how STPNOC is integrating the requirements of the Interim Compensatory Measures Order (EA-02-026) with the revised DBT Order requirements.
The change does not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the plan. Therefore, it is being submitted in accordance with 10CFR50.54(p)(2).
The Physical Security Plan and List of Changes provided with this letter require protection as Safeguards Information in accordance with 1 OCFR73.21.
