NRC SAFEGUARDS INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-20/2003-202
Dear Dr. Bernard:
This refers to the inspection conducted on June 23 - 25, 2003, at your MIT Research Reactor facility. The purpose of the inspection was to verify the implementation of interim compensatory measures (ICMs) and the successful incorporation of the ICMs into the security and safeguards program at your facility. The ICM measures were proposed in your letter to the NRC dated October 4, 2002 and imposed by the NRC in Confirmatory Action Letter No. NRR-02-005 dated October 28, 2002.
The enclosed report presents the results of the inspection. The inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, review of interface agreements with offsite organizations, and observations of activities in progress. Based on the results of the inspection, no significant safety issues were identified.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, without enclosure, will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
