Mano K. Nazar Senior VP, CNO at D.C. Cook Discussion:
On August 26, 2003, AEP announced that Mano K. Nazar will become senior vice president and chief nuclear officer of AEPs nuclear assets effective October1, 2003. Mr.Nazar will be responsible for oversight of AEPs D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Michigan and AEPs 25 percent ownership of the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station in Texas.
Mr. Nazar will join AEP from the Nuclear Management Company (NMC) where he was senior vice president - nuclear operations responsible for all Westinghouse reactor sites. Prior to joining NMC, Mr. Nazar was with Duke Power Company and held management positions at the McGuire and Oconee nuclear stations, including the position of plant manager at Oconee nuclear station.
Mr. Nazar holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of North Carolina. He replaces A. Christopher BakkenIII, who recently resigned.
