Dear Mr. Rathbun:
In my ongoing efforts to investigate the safety issues at the Davis Besse nuclear power plant, I request unredacted copies of the documents listed on the attached pages from FOIA 2003-0018
[Appendix D, E, F, G, M, N, 0, and P], FOIA 2002-0345 [Appendix B and C], and FOIA 2003-0024 [Appendix B].
These documents are essential to my investigation. Without them, I will not be able to give my constituents, 100 miles downwind of Davis Besse, any assurance that the reactor is safe for operation. As a Member of Congress and a Member of the Government Reform Committee, which has investigative authority over the NRC, I see no reason for withholding any of these materials. As these documents are clearly identified and already assembled as part of a FOIA request, I anticipate that these documents can be made available to my office in a short time frame.
