Dear Mr. Cooper:
We have rescheduled two radiation protection inspections at your Palisades Nuclear Power Plant. These changes were communicated during telephone conversations between Mr. J.
Geyer of your staff and Mr. R. Alexander on May 20, 2003, and between Mr. D. Williams of your staff and Mr. R. Alexander on May 28, 2003. The inspection to review the stations Radiological Environmental Monitoring and Radioactive Material Control programs, originally scheduled for the week of August 4, 2003, has been rescheduled for the week of October 20, 2003.
Additionally, the inspection to review the stations Radiological Gaseous and Liquid Effluent Treatment and Monitoring Systems, originally scheduled for the week of October 20, 2003, has been rescheduled for the week of December 15, 2003. These inspections were rescheduled to reduce the burden on your staff resulting from two scheduled radiation protection inspections during the month of August, and to support other regional inspection efforts. If you have any questions concerning this information, please contact R. Alexander of my staff at (630) 829-9853.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
