Dear Mr. Wheeler,
Ii While I was unable to make the public meetings on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 <
C0 concerning the renewal of the operating license of The Quad Cities Generating -n Station, I do want to state my opinions.
I own and operate a neighboring business, Cordova Dragway Park, 19425 IL Rt 84 N, Cordova, Illinois. I purchased this facility in 1995. The Exelon Generating Station is located across the highway from Cordova Dragway Park. Our facility is in operation from April through November each year and attracts over 200,000 people. Such major drag racing events at Cordova Dragway Park include an IHRA National Drag Race event, Fun Ford Weekend, Pro Fastest Street Car Association and The World Series of Drag Racing, which is the oldest continuous major drag race in the world.
With that being said, I have the following opinions to state:
The Exelon Plant has provided enhanced security in and around the facility that allows our spectators and staff to feel comfortable at ease with their location being so close to our facility.
Emergency action plans have been sent to our facility and documented in the unlikely case that such a problem would occur.
Emergency radio and telephone information has been posted at our facility should access for information be required.
The Exelon Plant grounds are maintained to a very high standard in appearance.
The communications director for the Exelon Plant is readily accessible should questions or concern arise.
The Exelon Plant held a public neighborhood meeting last spring for interested parties to attend and learn more about their business and safety plans.
In closing, I state that irOm in favor of the operating license of the Quad Cities Generating Station - Cordova, be renewed. With the number of people throughout the country that visit Cordova Dragway Park each season, we have

j Doris Mendiola - Quad Cities Generating Station - Cordova Page2 not had any questions or concerns in the regards to the Exelon Plant. The public views the plant essentially as I do, as a positive, safe and viable power generator for America.
Should you have any questions feel free to call me any time.
Thank You, Scott Gardner President, Cordova Dragway Park Cordova, Illinois 61242 309-654-2110
