Dear Mr. Myers:
We have rescheduled a radiation protection inspection at your Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. This change was communicated during telephone conversations between Mr. B.
Geddes of your staff and Dr. J. House on April 28, 2003, and between Mr. R. Ferrell of your staff and Dr. J. House on May 13, 2003. This inspection will focus on, and assess the effectiveness of, management oversight of the Radiation Protection program including ALARA planning and controls, and the control of radioactive material. Additionally, we will review radioactive material processing and transportation. This inspection has been rescheduled for the week of July 14, 2003. We have postponed this inspection in order for your new radiation protection management team to implement its leadership role. If you have any questions concerning this information, please contact J. House of my staff at (630) 829-9824.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
