JANUARY 2002 TURTLE CAPTURES Below please find a summary of sea turtle captures in the St. Lucie intake canal for January 2002.
A total of 49 turtles were captured. Three sick or injured turtles were sent for rehabilitation - none determined to be causally related to plant operation.
Please note that one green turtle mortality in March of last year (sheet 4 of the spreadsheet) was determined to be casual to plant operation following consultation with state FFWCC. This does not put the site over the take limit issued by NMFS last year as per interpretive correspondence issue by NRC in November.
