SUMMARY
OF THE APRIL 11, 2003, MEETING WITH EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC TO DISCUSS BRAIDWOOD PERFORMANCE On April 11, 2003, a public meeting was held at the Godley Park District Recreation Hall located in Godley, Illinois, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Exelon Generation Company staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of Braidwoods performance for the period of January 1, 2002, through December 31, 2002.
During the NRC presentation, an overall assessment of Braidwood performance was provided.
As explained in the Annual Assessment letter from NRC to Mr. J. Skolds, President, Exelon Nuclear, dated March 4, 2003, reference ADAMS accession number ML030640359, Braidwood Station, Unit 1 operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety with moderate degradation in safety performance. This was due to one White Finding and one White Performance Indicator in the Mitigating System Cornerstone. Braidwood Station, Unit 2 operated in a manner that preserved pubic health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives. The slides presented that evening by the NRC and the licensee are available in ADAMS (accession numbers ML030920486 and ML031060054).
Before adjourning the meeting the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the public to ask questions. There were no questions from the public.
