Meeting with Comr. McGaffigan on Point Beach EN-02-028 Mark Satorius and I meet with Comr. McGaffigan today at his request to discuss Point Beach EN-02-028 issued June 28, 2002. Comr. McGaffigan said that his issues with the EN were that: 1) the existence of an old design issue was not clearly specified, 2) the treatment of the red finding in the action matrix was not discussed; and 3) the level of inspection as a result of the red finding was not clearly specified. Mark stated that the final significance determination and notice of violation were still being worked and a new 3 day EN would be issued next week.
Comr. McGaffigan also expresses the importance that the press release which goes out with the issuance of the finding should be clear in describing how there can be a Column 2 plant with a red finding.
