Provide senior technical direction. support, and oversight to the TVAN chemistry and environmental protection program~s. The incumbent serves as the primary liaison betweeni the sites and TVAN corporate. The Incumbent m~anages the implementation of directives. standards, ..- d pol--;es and regulations.at all TVAN sites. The incumbent is the lead individual for ensuring that bigri stin's.rds are set and maintained at both corporate and the sites. His/her efforts are focused on establishing/maintaining a chemistry and environmental program that enhances the safe and reliable operation of IVAN sites.

1. Provide techn~ical and orogracmatic expertise for implementation of the TVAN chemistry and environmental protection programs at individual sites. Provide direction as needed for project managers managing projects at his/her assigned site. Oversee the activities of other personnel assigned support functions for meeting the responsibilities of this position.
2. Assist site management with interpretation of chemistry and environmental vollicy; review and concur with site procedures and other TYAZ( documents that may impact the programs. Promote optimum consistency among site programs.
3. Reccnmend chemistr and-envirenmental protection goals and specifications that are consistent with bist industry practices, and assist with the implementation of actions to achieve them. Direct the performance of site evaluations of the chemistry and environmental protection programs to ensure consistency and compliance with established requirements.
4. Direct review and concur with root cause analvses for identified chemistry and environmental protection program problems, direct the development of corrective action plans. and coordinate the implementation of approved corrective actions.

S. Direct the performirice-of regulatory -and licensing -reviews of chemistry and environmental issues, recomnend IVAN responses or positions, and concur with responses to eaternal organizations.

6. Direci the develornent of chemistry and envirornmental protection training and qualification criteria.

Conduct specialized seminars on chemistry and environmental protection technical topics as requested.

7. Provide lone-terin./ar~e scope proiect supoort to the plant sites for major chemistry and environmental projects. Provide short-term, plant problem response to the sites as requested.

S. Perform long-termn data trending and assessment of key chemistry and environmental protection data. Provide appropriate feedback and corrective action proposals as necessary. Prepare an Annual Chemistry'and Environmental Protection Report; review for concurrence with site staffs and issue.

10. Serve as a che-iistrv and environmental Protection special~ist' or alternate dose assessor, or environmental assessor, in the event of a. radiological emergency. Remain on call Z4 hours per day unless relieved by other approved personnel.
11. Actively enoace in weeklyl 2lant tours, personnel interviews, observation feedback and working meetings during routine operations and plant outages. Coordinate vith sites the preparation for INPO evaluations and responses.

14. Develoy research and develoemn project issues and act as technical coordinator. Compile data and research positions that support requests for systems specification changes and engineering design changes.

6. Understand the purpospe and provide direction to WVAR site staffs in the implementation of such programs as ETA/Boric Acid/Hiolar..ratio control, secondary PWR Chemistry Control, IGSCC, mitigation. W~C and Zinc injection progra-ms for 5,J's, zebra russel/clam control in service water systems.
7. Function as the senior technical expert and provide direction to the TVA.'4 sites in all1 aspects of FWR steam generator chemistry/corro-sion ccntrol which include hideout return evaluations, sludge lancing, chemical cleaning,and corrosion product transport minimizati on.

B. Function as the senior technical expert and provide direction to the TVAN sites in the areas of DOCJI and radiological effluents management. Coordinate all regulatory updates.

MVITAnIJM QUALIFTCATTONS:

T Aager should have a bachelors degree or the equivalent in chemistry, environmental sciences, or chemical an-n'ering, including formal training and ciperience in management. The manager shall haviat least eight years of professional experience in applied chemistry or environmental protection, with experience 'at an operating nuclear plant preferable. The manager should have detailed knowledge of modern. analytical and radioanalytical equipment and methods used for performing all required chemistry and environmental analysts at TVAN sites which includes equipment operation and capabilities . He/she must possess a very good knowledge base in the areas of environm.ental regulations, PWtR and EWPR chemistry centrol guidelines and permitting requirements. An advanced degree and ten years experience at the professional or managerial level are desirable.
