April 4, 2003 Prairie Group Attn: Mr. George Gore P.O. Box 131 Urbana, IL 61803

SUBJECT:

REQUEST TO BE ADDED TO CLINTON POWER STATION MAILING LIST

Dear Mr. Gore:

During the public meeting discussing Early Site Permits, held adjacent to the Clinton Power Station (CPS) on March 20, 2003, you requested that the Prairie Group be added to the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) mailing lists for both the Early Site Permit and the CPS dockets. I am responding to your request regarding the CPS docket.

The NRC has made provisions for members of the public to obtain various forms of information.

The enclosed Citizens Guide to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NUREG/BR-0010, Revision 3), provides guidance in this area. Publicly available records are available at the NRCs Public Document Room, located at One White Flint North, Public File Area, Room O1-F21, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. Publicly available records are also accessible electronically from the Agencywide Documents Access and Management Systems (ADAMS) Public Electronic Reading Room on the internet at the NRC Web site, http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. Persons who do not have access to ADAMS or who encounter problems in accessing the documents located in ADAMS, should contact the NRC Public Document Room Reference staff by telephone at 1-800-397-4209, 301-415-4737 or by email to pdr@nrc.gov.

The options described above should provide you with sufficient opportunity to access all publicly available records regarding the CPS. However, if you still desire to be added to the CPS mailing list, you will need to provide a written request, including justification, and mail it to the Document Control Desk, U.S. NRC, Washington, DC 20555. The Document Control Desk will forward the request for evaluation. All requests will be jointly evaluated by staff from both NRC headquarters offices located in Rockville, Maryland, and NRC Region III located in Warrenville, Illinois. Requests will be evaluated based upon:

your justification, your interest in the CPS facility, your access to the Public Document Room and the ADAMS Public Electronic Reading Room, and the staffs concern for administrative burden reduction.

Mr. G. Gore If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by telephone at 301-415-1364 or by email at dvp1@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Douglas V. Pickett, Senior Project Manager, Section 2 Project Directorate III Division of Licensing Project Management Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation
