I. INTRODUCTION Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station is composed of two Boiling Water Reactors and Steam Turbine/Generators located in Cordova, Illinois. Unit One has a Maximum Dependable Capacity of 855 MWe Net, and Unit Two has a Maximum Dependable Capacity of 855 MWe Net. The Station is jointly owned by Exelon Nuclear and MidAmerican Energy Company. The Nuclear Steam Supply Systems are General Electric Company Boiling Water Reactors. The Architect/ Engineer was Sargent &
Lundy, Incorporated, and the primary construction contractor was United Engineers &
Constructors. The Mississippi River is the condenser cooling water source. The plant is subject to license numbers DPR-29 and DPR-30, issued October 1, 1971, and March 21, 1972, respectively, pursuant to Docket Numbers 50-254 and 50-265. The dates of initial Reactor criticality for Units One and Two were October 18, 1971, and April 26, 1972, respectively. Commercial generation of power began on February 18, 1973, for Unit One and March 10, 1973, for Unit Two.

SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE A. Unit One Unit One began the month at approximately 525 MWe due to an unplanned load drop to identify a leaking fuel bundle. Unit One attained full power on February 4, and remained at full power until February 21 when power was reduced to approximately 460 MWe for planned Control Rod Adjustments /
Scram Timing and Feed and Condensate Pump Repairs. From February 25 through February 28 Unit One was slightly derated (approximately 10 MWe) due to Control Rod withdrawal restrictions implemented following identification of a fuel failure on February 25. Unit One power was reduced to approximately 600 MWe on February 28 to identify the leaking fuel.
B. Unit Two Unit Two operated the month of February at full power with the exception of a planned load drop on February 7 to approximately 790 MWe for planned Turbine testing.
