Li.ensee LCY-hib I3-Aeeaild Mark J. Burzynski Manager of Nuclear Licensing, Tennessee Valley Authority Work Experience Mark Burzynski was named Manager of Nuclear Licensing in June 1997. Before that time he served as TVA Nuclear's Manager of Engineering. As Manager of Nuclear Licensing, Mr. Burzynski is responsible for managing TVA's interface with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He has more than 25 years experience in the nuclear industry with extensive background in the areas of engineering and licensing.
His experience in licensing includes initial licensing of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, the first plant licensed following the Three Mile Island accident.
- 2. He worked as a nuclear engineer in the Reactor Engineering Branch from 1981 to 1984 on various plant support activities for TVA's pressurized water reactors.
- 3. He held several management positions at Watts Bar from 1984 to 1986 with responsibility for several regulatory support programs.
- 4. He held several management positions at Sequoyah, including the Site Licensing Manager position from 1986 to 1990. He was responsible for licensing activities and operating experience program during the restart of Sequoyah.
- 5. He was the Lead Mechanical Engineer at Browns Ferry in 1990 during the restart of Unit 2.
- 6. He held several management positions in the corporate Licensing office, including the position of Manager Nuclear Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, from 1991 - 1993. He had overall responsibility for TVA's licensing and operating experience programs and interface responsibilities with INPO and the nuclear insurer.
- 7. He held several management positions at Sequoyah, including Site Engineering and Materials Manager form 1993 to 1997. He had overall responsibility for the design and systems engineering programs and the warehouse and spare parts inventory.

- 8. He was the corporate Manager of Engineering in 1997, with responsibility for various engineering support activities.
- 9. He has been the Manager of Nuclear Licensing since June 1997. He has overall responsibility for TVA's licensing and operating experience programs andinterface responsibilities with NRC, NEI, INPO, NSSS Owners Groups, and the nuclear insurer.
Mr. Burzynski has also served as Chairman of the Westinghouse Owners Group Technical Specification Subcommittee in 1985 and 1986 and was instrumental in the development of the improved standard technical specifications for Westinghouse plants.

Education and Qualifications Mr. Burzynski earned his Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Michigan in 1977.
Mr. Burzynski earned his Master's degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in June 1997.
He completed the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Shift Technical Advisor training program in 1981.
He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Tennessee.
