EXPERIENCE July 2001 to Present Vice President Nuclear Support, Tennessee Valley Authority, Chattanooga, Tennessee As Vice President Nuclear Support, I am responsible for Nuclear Business Services which includes Business Planning, and Performance Monitoring and Reporting for TVA Nuclear.
I am also responsible for Corporate Nuclear Security, the Concerns Resolution Program, and Nuclear Project Management.
December 1994 to July 2001 Maintenance and Modifications Manager, Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Tennessee Valley Authority, Spring City, Tennessee As Maintenance and Modifications Manager, I was responsible for managing the Maintenance Program at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.
This Maintenance responsibility included what maintenance needed to be done and when; what predictive and preventive maintenance programs were deployed; what spare parts inventory was maintained; the selection, training and development of personnel, and labor relations.
I also was responsible for managing the Modifications Program at Watts Bar.
This scope of responsibility included managing the implementation of design changes and upgrades to the plant and managing the contracts necessary to support executing the changes.
As part of the Watts Bar Management team, I was a PORC member (Alternate Chair), Site Emergency Director, ALARA Committee member, Central Safety Committee member, Health and Safety Committee member, and Training Review Board member.
I also carried duty as the duty Plant Manager.
Also during this period, I served as Chairman of the NMAC Steering Committee.
During my tour at Watts Bar, Watts Bar received its Commercial Operation License and achieved the highest possible ratings from industry evaluators and national recognition as a top performing nuclear plant by ANS.

I managed the Watts Bar Plant-Project Completion Organization resolving construction deficiencies and completing area turn over to the plant staff. As-the Hot Functional Test Program Milestone Manager, I w~as responsible for the management of activities prerequisite to the performance of the Pre-fuel Load Hot Functional Test Program at Watts Bar.

March 1991 to Plant-Manager, Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Tennessee Valley July 1993 Authority, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee As Plant Manager, I was responsible for the management of a 2300 mega-watt electrical generating station with a staff of approximately 800 people. My responsibilities included all aspects of managing crisis issues, optimizing generating plant performance, optimizing outage performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, budget planning and control, fire protection and industrial safety performance, training and staffing, and labor relations.
Reporting to me were the Operations, Maintenance, Chemistry, Outage Management, Technical Support, Radiological Control and Training organizations.
During my tenure, plant thermal performance was improved, plant capacity factor improved, refueling outages were performed on schedule and on budget, and Labor Relation's related issues were significantly reduced.
February 1988 Maintenance Manager, Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Tennessee to March 1991 Valley Authority, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee Responsible for the maintenance effort at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.
Reporting to me in this position were Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation and Controls Maintenance, and Maintenance Planning.
In 1988, the Sequoyah units were being recovered from an extended shutdown (-3yrs).
During my tenure as Maintenance Manager, both units were recovered and removed from the NRC Troubled Plants list and achieved above average ratings from regulators and industry groups.
March 1983 to Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station (PVNGS)
February 1988 Phoenix, Arizona Held several positions at PVNGS of increasing responsibility:
Unit One Maintenance Manager Unit One Outage Superintendent Unit One Startup Test Group Supervisor Lead Engineer for Hot Functional Testing My work at PVNGS began as the Lead Engineer for Hot Functional Testing.
In this capacity, I pulled together the site testing and construction completion efforts to permit plant heat-up and Hot Functional Testing.
Completed Hot Functional Testing and was promoted to Balance of Plant Test Group Supervisor to complete startup testing and system completion in support of fuel load and commercial operation.
Following power ascension, I assumed the duties of Outage Superintendent responsible for Work Control and Outage Management for Unit One.
I again progressed at PVNGS and assumed the position of Unit One Maintenance Manager.

October 1979 Startup Engineering Supervisor, St. Lucie Plant, Florida to March 1983 Power & Light Company, St. Lucie, Florida Performed responsibilities as a startup test engineer at the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant Unit 2. This responsibility included the acceptance and startup of several systems and that of Hot Functional Test performance.
Also functioned as backfit engineer during Unit 1 refueling outages.
Promoted to Startup Engineering Supervisor responsible for final system completion and acceptance for assigned areas.
September 1972 United States Navy, USS James Madison SSBN-627, USS Sturgeon to October 1979 SSN-637 Served as Engineering Watch Supervisor.
Received Navy Achievement and Navy Commendation Medals for performance.
Received Reserve Commission in 1981 (Designator Submarine Engineering / Repair).
