Request for Termination of Facility License No. R-59 for the Iowa State University Argonaut Reactor (ISUAR)
Dear Sir:
The purpose of this letter is to formally request the termination of Facility License Number R-59 for the Iowa State University Argonaut Reactor (ISUAR).
We believe that Iowa State University has met the requirements for license termination set forth in 10 CFR part 50.82.b.6 by the following actions: (1) completion of the demolition of the ISUAR following the procedures set forth in Decommissioning Plan approved by the US NRC (in a letter dated May 8, 2000) and, (2) by meeting the release criteria for decommissioning set forth in 10 CFR part 20, subpart E, as demonstrated in the Final Status Survey Report submitted to the US NRC on October 9, 2000.
