The welds in question were in fact under sized.
the tanks in question were fabricated per PO # 4500373998 Line # 13 for MR 02-001 (tanks SN are 2029011-001 and SN 2029011-002). This PO specified that the tanks shall be manufactured lAW there OA program and the PBNP will supplement their program with a final visual exam. It was during this exam that the undersized welds were discovered.

Nuclear Management Company The required weld leg size was.218" per ASME VIII UW-16 (see sketch (a) on figure UW 16.1).
The vessels were returned to the manufacture for repair lAW their Section XIII program.
The tanks have been returned and reexamined. The final visual exam is complete and all welds on both tanks are satisfactory (see visual exam weld examination record number 700416).
