LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNIT 2 - RE: DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATION FOR PROPOSED REVISION TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS SAFETY LIMIT MINIMUM CRITICAL POWER RATIO FOR CYCLE 8 OPERATION (TAC NO. MB6884)
Dear Mr. Skolds:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has reviewed the application from Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2 (LGS) dated November 21, 2002, as supplemented by letter dated February 25, 2003. The proposed amendment would revise the Technical Specifications for the safety limit for the minimum critical power ratio from its current value of 1.09 to 1.07 for two recirculation-loop operation, and from 1.11 to 1.09 for single recirculation-loop operation.
Enclosed is a draft safety evaluation (SE) for LGS. This draft SE is being withheld from public disclosure at this time because it may contain proprietary information.
We are providing this draft SE for the purpose of identifying if it contains any proprietary information pursuant to Section 2.790 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Please provide any comments that you may have on the enclosed draft SE with regard to the inclusion of proprietary information by March 13, 2003. Should a situation occur that prevents you from meeting that date, please contact Scott Wall of my staff at (301) 415-2855.
