Dear Ms. Pederson:
On January 27, 2003, the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP) staff submitted a response (PY-CEI/OIE-0579L) to an NRC Request for Information Concerning a Licensed Operator Positive Alcohol Test, dated December 27, 2002.
The response indicated that the PNPP management intended to return the individual to licensed duties, contingent upon satisfactory medical screening and completion of a comprehensive recovery plan. Upon further review, it has been decided that the individual will not be returned to licensed duties.
A separate letter, informing the NRC staff that the individual's license will be expired, is being submitted in accordance with 10 CFR 50.74(b).
There are no regulatory commitments contained in this letter.
