SUBJECT:

CLOSEOUT OF NRC STAFFS EFFORTS IN LICENSEE REQUESTED MEETINGS OR CALLS TO DISCUSS ISSUES INVOLVING WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION (TAC NO. MB0265)

On October 17, 2000, the subject TAC was taken out to cover the NRC staffs efforts in meetings or calls requested by the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation to discuss issues that did not involve active licensing actions for the Wolf Creek Generating Station. For meetings or calls involved with active licensing actions, the staffs effort would be charged to the TACs for the licensing actions.

For the subject TAC, the staffs efforts involved in the following:

 A conference call on October 17, 2000, to discuss the use of Code Case N-513 to delay repairs to the component cooling water piping on the discharge from the letdown heat exchanger.

 A meeting with the Strategic Teaming and Resource Sharing - Integrated Regulatory Affairs Group (STARS-IRAG), which includes the licensee, to discuss and explain the future joint submittals from the group to approve risk-informed inservice inspections at the groups plants.

 A conference call on January 24, 2002, to discuss the licensees questions related to Code Case OMN-1 and response time testing.

The three meetings and calls involved a total of four technical branch reviewers who charged a total of 19.7 hours8.101852e-5 days <br />0.00194 hours <br />1.157407e-5 weeks <br />2.6635e-6 months <br />. The project manager charged an additional 7.3 hours3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br />. Therefore, the total hours charged to the subject TAC is 27 hours3.125e-4 days <br />0.0075 hours <br />4.464286e-5 weeks <br />1.02735e-5 months <br />. This does not include one hour charged to the subject TAC for the pay period October 28, 2002 through November 10, 2002. By memorandum dated December 11, 2002, to the NRR T&A coordinator, that one hour should have been charged to TAC MB0921.

This memorandum closes out the subject TAC and no further time will be charged.
