Dear Mr. Brodsky:
I am writing this in response to your request that a representative of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission appear at a hearing before the New York State Assembly Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions at the White Plains Public Library on Friday, January 17, 2003, to testify regarding the recently issued draft Witt Report. Although the agency is declining your invitation to appear, I want to assure you that we are undertaking a review of the draft report to assess any implications for emergency planning at the Indian Point and Millstone nuclear facilities.
